Current Research/Development
The Virginia Accessible Instructional Materials Center (AIM-VA) produces and delivers accessible instructional materials for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in Virginia who have students with print disabilities. The AIM-VA will also provide training and technical assistance to LEAs who will order and use these accessible instructional materials. The AIM-VA will also assist the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to implement the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standards (NIMAS) regulations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). http://kihd.gmu.edu/aim
Kellar Instructional Handheld Data System. Development of browser based data collection and analysis system for handheld PDAs as a commercial product. Usability study on data collection and analysis for handheld PDAs. Article in progress for submission to the Journal of Special Education Technology.
KIHd handheld data collection site was developed by Behrmann, M., Graff, H., Wang, S. and ID&D Immersion Team (launched in 2005). Learning Into Future Environments (LIFE) Program: Internship and research experiences to
T/TAC Online. Development and implementation of a statewide web based delivery system for professional development and technical assistance in special education via the ID&D Immersion Program.

Visual Impairment Consortium: Development of a statewide, multi-university higher education program for teachers of students with visual impairments. Curriculum includes both Masters and licensure coursework and will be delivered via distance education.
